I’m trying to return my equipment, but I was told to get the receiver off the dish itself and send it back with the other equipment. I’ve been trying to get a visual image of this receiver to make sure I’m getting the right thing.

By “receiver” I would guess that the agent meant the TRIA. Please refer to this diagram below, it explains how to return your equipment and specifies the equipment components that must be returned:
