Slow upload speed for cameras

Upload speed to slow to support remote viewing of cameras even ay super low resolution. How can I increase upload speed?

Hi, @Kim.parker,

Thanks for your message. I’m checking that now.

Once I have some feedback I’ll let you know.

@Kim.parker,

When you have a chance, please run a speed test from your modem, as follows:

1 - Open the Viasat browserthis test won’t work on other browsers;
2 - Go to this website: Viasat Speed Check | Home
3 - Log in using your My Viasat account
4 - Run the test (wait for both tests - modem and device - to complete)

If you follow those steps, we’ll have access to the results.

I did some tests from our side and the speeds were good. The results from the tests on your side will help us to identify if you have any Wi-Fi issues.

By good speeds I mean the speeds were according to the advertised rate. 3 Mbps of upload speed is the maximum offered for residential customers.

Thanks!

Thank you for your response.
3MB is not enough to remotely view the home cameras effectively.
Interesting that we did not have this problem until the Viasat modem upgrade.
Thanks

Hi, @Kim.parker,

Maybe the cameras are a bit far from the router? Walls and other obstacles might also decrease the signal.

Since the upload speeds are the same before and after the new equipment, and before you didn’t have this issue, having a Wi-Fi extender could help now.
