Horrible Service/Internet

First, let me say that the person who did my installation did an amazing job. He was so kind and did a great job. However, that is the only good part of this internet.

The internet is absolutely horrible. Im paying 135 for internet that is good for one day. Whenever my service refills on the 12th, it is usually slow by the 14th.

I bought this service for normal gaming and web browsing but I cant even do that. The speeds are so bad that youtube, facebook, emails, photos, minecraft, none of it will load. And god forbit my roomates try using the internet at the same time.

It is completely unreliable as well. Within a span of 10 minuts my speeds changed from 33mbps download and 5mbps upload to 1.16mbps download and 0.54mbps upload.

I cannot afford to pay more for this internet so im probably gonna have to find something else because it is absolutely rediculous.

So I’d like to verify with you if you don’t have another issue on your setup, like a bad Wi-Fi signal perhaps.

When you get a chance, can you please run a complete speed diagnosis for us?

  • You can download the Viasat Browser here: https://browser.viasat.com/.
  • After you install the browser, you need to be logged in on speedcheck.viasat.com.
    • To do that, click “Login” in the upper right corner of the menu, as indicated in the picture below.
    • The credentials for this login are the same as the ones you use for MyViasat.


When you run the tests from the Viasat browser, we can see “Speed from your device” and most importantly “Speed from your modem”, which is greatly useful to identify discrepancies in the speeds, such as in this example below:

I know this is a bit more cumbersome than just running a normal test, but the complete diagnosis helps us eliminate other factors.
