Why is my download so slow?
Hi @chrisrous,
Thank you for sending a message here on our forum!
We’ll investigate your case and I’ll reach out with updates on your case soon.
Thank you,
Avner
Hi @chrisrous,
At first glance, I still couldn’t find anything wrong with your current connection. Upon running a speed test from your modem 2 days ago I was able to reproduce the bad speeds you were mentioning, but today I came back to analyse it again and I see better results:
Do you think this represents your experience? Did you notice an improvement since you first posted here on the forum or do you feel like the experience is still the same?
I can see on Viasat SpeedCheck that you’ve run a few tests, and the most recent one also seems to have a good result. I’d like to ask you to keep running those tests so we can keep track of your network behavior.
Please notice that you can also experience bad speeds during busy peak hours (evening hours) due to what we call network congestion.
I’ll wait for your feedback so I can decide which approach to take on your case.
Thank you,
Avner
Thanks for your reply, in the warly am things are good but as the day progresses things get worse. Also I can not check modem from my computer. I get a notice saying ’ We couldn’t detect your Viasat Modem’. Yet it says I am connected. Also at bootom of right of screen where it should show the signal for being connected I have the round circle with the stop sign on top.
Hi @chrisrous,
Upon taking a look at your history I see that besides Viasat you have also “Amazon.com, Inc” listed as your ISP.
I believe that when you see that error in which we couldn’t detect your modem, it probably means you are connected to the Amazon internet.
That could also help you understand why you have a connection but still see the offline icon on the bottom.
How exactly do you connect to Amazon internet? Is it another Wi-Fi in your house?
Thank you,
Avner
Hi, @chrisrous,
I think you’re using a VPN. All of those “Amazon” entries in the table don’t show your real IP
I’ll send more details in a direct message.
Hi @chrisrous,
Did you see the reply Anderson sent you and also his DM regarding this matter?
Does an Amazon VPN connection make sense to explain what we saw in your experience?
Could you give us some feedback?
Thank you,
Avner
