Viasat Shield and Voice

Viasat Shield not showing any connected devices.

Cannot access my Viasat voice.

Cannot reset Viasat internet password.

Hi @Donald_Streams ,

I see from your account that you have an Aria Router, right? For your Enhanced Wi-Fi.

Unfortunately, Viasat Shield currently only works if you have a direct connection from your modem, without any extra router.

If you do not use the Aria router and instead opt to use the modem as your router, you will be able to use Viasat Shield, but that might decrease the speeds of your Wi-Fi network.

Nathalia,
Thank You for the feedback . Do I just disconnect Aria and reboot the modem?

Also, no response yet about my Viasat Voice issue or how to reset password.

Hi @Donald_Streams ,

To further clarify: your modem is only able to push the Wi-Fi signal up to a certain speed limit, which can well accommodate the lower speed plans.

For customers who chose to increase their plan speeds, an Aria router was sent so that your Wi-Fi network could function with the maximum speeds our customers are paying for.

If you do not use the Aria router and instead opt to use the modem as your router, you will be able to use Viasat Shield, but that might decrease the speeds of your Wi-Fi network.

If you don’t need your Wi-Fi at maximum speed, you won’t encounter any issues, but should you want to have a faster Wi-Fi signal, you can re-install the Aria router.

As soon as you connect the Aria router, the modem goes back into bridge mode automatically.

Regarding your other issues, could you provide some more information on what happens when you try to access your Viasat voice and when you try to reset your Viasat Internet Password? Preferably with screenshots, if possible.

Thanks,
Leonardo

Leo,
Viasat Voice line works.
I am not able to access the Viasat Portal and I cannot see where I have an option to change password.

Hi @Donald_Streams , sorry for the late reply.

You mean the Wi-Fi password, right?

Step 1
Type the following into your internet browser’s address bar: 192.168.1.1:8080

Step 2
When prompted, log in using the credentials below:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: admin

PS: Sometimes this password/username combination doesn’t work as the technician installing the modem might have changed it slightly.

In that case, you can reset the equipment by pressing down the reset button on the back of the modem for seven seconds – that will cause the modem to reset to factory settings, and reboot.
