Hi @67tango ,
As of now, your modem speeds appear to be high:
Could you please run another complete speed diagnosis on Speedcheck while having your device as close to the router as possible?
In the meantime, I will investigate the possible causes for your slow speeds earlier and keep you posted.
Hi @67tango,
I’ve identified a possible fix for your issue, and made some changes to your network configuration.
These changes will be in full effect exactly 1 hour from now.
After that, could you please run more speed tests, whenever possible?
Thank you!
Will do! Thanks for working this so quickly. I’ll give it a little more time before running the test.
A little better, thank you. Going in the right direction.

Any other tips/tricks to get to 100Mbps?
Hi @67tango , I’m glad to know that there’s been an improvement
To further increase your speeds on the device, I suggest having it as close to the router as possible. Alternatively, you could use an external third-party router with better coverage so that your device may match more closely the speed of your modem, regardless of distance.
As for the speeds on the modem, they may vary throughout the day due to congestion, especially during peak hours. If using your devices during off-peak hours is feasible, it will likely result in experiencing high speeds.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to assist you, especially if your speeds fall below the 25 - 100 Mbps Unleashed range!
Thanks Gualter,
The device (laptop) is 1 foot from the modem. My previous modem was a regular Surfbeam. I used a netgear nighthawk r7000 with the old modem. The upgrade to SB+ was last week. I do not have the router installed currently. I will add the router and see what affect it has. My 2 smart TVs are experiencing latency when attempting to run apps such as prime, YT, or netflix. No issues with the 2 Samsung Android phones.
Little improvement connecting the router. Tonight logged 26 device thru the router / 50 modem. Sure would be nice to see these numbers a lot higher. Any suggestions? I rebooted both modem and computer.

Best speed so far. Would be nice to see consistency in the higher modem speed. Smart TV app streaming has improved performance.

The modem temp is 113 on the case and 125 degrees internally. There is 12 inches clearance around. The room is 120sq/ft and is 78 degrees. Any correlation to modem temp and speed?

Q: Why can’t I get consistant higher speed numbers like this?
Hi @67tango ,
This happens because geosynchronous orbit satellite internet is especially sensitive to network congestion, so during times many people are using it simultaneously (which we call peak busy periods) the speeds will lower for everyone, and this is especially true for when you are over your data limit. I know this is not ideal but it is unfortunately one of the limitations caused by the technology.
With that said, it seems the latest change we’ve made to your connection has improved the situation a bit, which is good news.
If the temperature is high enough, it can be a cause for throttling or disconnection, but the temperature of your modem is not high enough for that, it might be a bit warm but it won’t affect performance. If the modem is in an enclosed space like inside a table compartment or something else, you can get better temperatures by ensuring it is in a space with good airflow.
Thanks,
Leonardo
Thanks for chiming in Leo.

Outstanding! Would be great to receive this consistently. Last night around 5pm speed result was 10 device / 38 modem.
I keep getting an error on the modem speed test, why?
