Slowest Speeds ever

Slowest speed I have ever encountered with Viasat. They say my modem is ok because it boots up and it is due to being during peak hours 8:00 to 11:00 I had 13 put of 21 checks possible WiFi Issues. It ranged from 9 to 37 Mbps. It won"t even run the Streaming Hub they sent me. It won’t load a movie so had to unplug it. Useless if you can’t even watch a movie. But they still nothing is wrong because the modem boots up. I been wondering if HughesNet would be better. I used to get download speeds of over 100 Mbps now lucky if I get 35 or 40 Mbps. OH and by the way I replaced the cable and put a brand new cable on. Just wanted to let you know the progress of my Internet. I know the these should be outside of the peak hours. You don’t have to respond for I already know what the answer will be.

Hi @jmaddox1795

Sorry about this experience you’re having with Viasat.

When did you first notice the slower speeds?

I see that your account is currently in the middle of an outage affecting multiple customers in the region. Because of that, some packets are being dropped in the communication between your modem and the Internet. This packet loss can result in slower speeds and/or slower browsing.

Also, you’ve mentioned being unable to use the Stream Hub – did this start alongside the slow speeds, or with the plan upgrade? Or is it a more recent issue?

HughesNet is worse. Unfortunately you aren’t going to see any faster speeds with Viasat they will give you the run around checking and changing your network settings. It might help for a day. The slow speeds you are seeing are standard for many of us on Viasat.
