Speeds are so slow I can’t watch the football game on prime. I just upgraded for faster speeds and it’s not working out so far.
Hi, @Therascalfive,
Thanks for your message. I’m checking that now.
When I have some feedback I let you know.
Hi, @Therascalfive,
We’ll need some more details on the problem:
- Are other apps affected by that? Or is it happening mostly to Amazon Prime?
- Are the speeds low throughout the entire day or just during the night?
As for now, from what I could test, the speeds are good.
→ If you have bad speeds now, please run a speed test and send us the results.
→ If the speeds are good now, please run a test when you experience the problem again (and send us the results).
In order for us to have a full picture of the problem, I’d recommend you run the speed tests as follows:
1 - Open the Viasat browser – this test won’t work on other browsers;
2 - Go to this website: Viasat Speed Check | Home
3 - Log in using your My Viasat account
4 - Run the test (wait for both tests - modem and device - to complete)
By following those steps, we’ll have access to valuable data that can help us better troubleshoot the issue.
However, I understand it’s not always possible to download the Viasat Browser just for running the tests. If that’s your case, you can just run the speed tests from your preferred browser and send us screenshots of the results.
It was slow on all apps. All video was lagging or buffering. My tests were 8 mbps down and 6 up.
Faster speeds aren’t doing me any good 12 hours after the fact.
Speeds were slower than what I was expecting up until the point we ran out of data. Note the speeds are totally junk. The SD is just non usable.
Hi @Therascalfive,
I added 30 GBs (free-of-charge) of extra priority data, so that we can check if the speeds improve (and validate that the cause is the fact you reached your data limit). Please ignore any email saying that you purchased extra data, I added a credit for the cost, so you won’t be paying for it.
We have been monitoring an issue that was making congestion slightly worse in your service area, we hope to see some improvements tomorrow - we will keep you posted on this.
Finally, as Anderson recommended in a different post, a great way to economize on your data usage is by using our experimental Data Saver feature.
Thanks,
Nacho
