Can you give us more details about the issues you’re experiencing?

The modem has internet signal. I tested the speeds and at this moment they are good.

When you have a chance, please run a speed test on your side, as follows:
1 - Open the Viasat browserthis test won’t work on other browsers;
2 - Go to this website: Viasat Speed Check | Home
3 - Log in using your My Viasat account
4 - Run the test (wait for both tests - modem and device - to complete)

By following those steps, I’ll be able to see the results and some useful information about your modem. We’ll need that information to better investigate the issue.

This morning when I did speed test, I got 3 Mbps up and 4.8 down once and then .5Mbps up and 4.0 down. I just get this, which seems more reasonable. I do note that this morning it attached to a Windsteam location in Ashburn versus this Frontier location reading:

One of the goals of those advanced tests using the Viasat browser is to check the difference between your device and modem speeds.

Were you able to run the advanced Speed Check?
I’ll attach the full guide below, in case you’re experiencing any issues.

I know this is a bit more cumbersome than just running a normal test, but the complete diagnosis helps us eliminate other factors.

Advanced SpeedCheck (Modem + Device tests)

  • You can download the Viasat Browser here:
  • After you install the browser, you need to be logged in on
    • To do that, click “Login” in the upper right corner of the menu, as indicated in the picture below.
    • The credentials for this login are the same as the ones you use for MyViasat.


When you run the tests from the Viasat browser, we can see “Speed from your device” and most importantly “Speed from your modem”, which is greatly useful to identify discrepancies in the speeds, such as in this example below:
