Slow internet speeds and constant loss of connection to satellite

Had my dish relocated a few weeks back and since then my internet has been very slow, and will lose connection to the satellite ( modem flashes white)

When i previously upgraded to my high speed data plan the tech installed an additional piece of equipment connected to my modem. But another tech removed it when aligning my dish saying it was problematic. I’m unable to stream movies which is my primary use of it.

Hoping to get this resolved or I’ll have to cancel service

Any ideas on what it could be?

Hi @Tomjones7888 ,

We’re sorry for the situation. We’ll investigate and update here as soon as we have any updates.

Meanwhile, could you confirm if the device the technician took away looks like this?

Thanks,
Leonardo

It did look kinda like that. Lights up blue when working

Hi @Tomjones7888

Sorry for the slow reply, and thanks for the info! We’re trying to find out the root cause for your frequent loss of connectivity.

It looks like the drops started around July 12th, is that correct? Did you happen to have any bad weather around those days (or prior)?

Nope. Sunny and high 90s all summer so far.

Hi @Tomjones7888

Got it!

We’ve escalated your case with an internal team due to the drops in connection, and as soon as we have more information regarding this issue, we’ll let you know

Hi @Tomjones7888

Do you currently have an Ethernet cable with which you could use your devices connected directly to the modem? It seems the ARIA Router given to you was not behaving as it should (the signal was still too weak), hence its removal.

Within the Forum we often recommend these 2 Router alternatives to use along Viasat SB2+ Modems (the one your setup uses):

These are both very good Routers and help in amplifying the Wi-Fi range and quality throughout an average-sized house.

Regarding the loss of connection, have you suffered any more drops since your last post?

I see that there was a massive drop in signal quality (and your internet connection, by consequence) during July 26-27th, due to weather. This happened to many other users in your region, so it was not specific to any issue with your individual setup.
