Slow, Expensive, not even worth it

New to the area and Viasat is the only provider, unfortunately. We gave in and purchased it and now I can’t wait to get rid of it. Out of data within 2 weeks and still paying over 100 dollars a month. Paid $75 dollars for my “free installation” by the shady contractor they sent out, who left wire all over my yard for me to find with the mower. Now I’m using internet off a hotspot through my phone, which happens to be faster than Viasats great speed. I’ll pay for the first month but they can come pick up their scrap metal they installed at any time.

Hi @Rskin915,

We added 20 GB of extra data (free-of-charge) to your account while we troubleshoot the issue. If you get an email saying you purchased this data, please ignore it, we credited the charges.

In order to provide a recommendation for you to save data, is it ok if we take a look at your usage?

Thanks,

Nacho

Sure feel free to check it out. I did however get an email stating that I purchased 20 gigs of data for 14 dollars. Should I just ignore that?

I am running out of high speed data and the speed is way toooooooo slow please help

Hi @ldeavila,

I created this new forum topic to keep track of your issue - I am running out of high speed data

Hi @Rskin915,

Yes, you can ignore that email, we already added a credit for those charges, so the cost to you is $0.

I am taking a look at your data usage now. Hope to have an update soon.

Hi @Rskin915,

I can see that 70% of your usage during this billing cycle is categorized as “Real Time Entertainment” meaning video streaming. I also see that apps like Netflix and Disney Plus have been consuming up to 4 GB per hour.

I think you could really benefit from joining our Data Saver feature experiment, which should help you save a lot of data. If you are interested, please read this forum article: Announcing the Data Saver Feature Experiment!

Thanks,

Nacho

Interesting since we have not used Netflix in a long time

I would like to try that service

Hi @ldeavila,

That message about Netflix was intended for another user, here is a link to the topic where we are keeping track of your case - I am running out of high speed data

If you could reply there, that would be great

Thanks,

Nacho

I thought I was the only one! This service is the worst! Very expensive! I ended up purchasing more and it still ran out quickly! I think it’s ridiculous!

Hi @laina37,

Like I mentioned in your original post (Very expensive and extremely slow!), we believe you could benefit from using the Data Saver feature.

Thanks,
