Wifi signal drops repeatedly. Stays off for long periods of time in perfect weather. Rebooting does not fix the problem. I can’t stream Netflix or even use wifi for calling.
Hi @pipercatandjane,
Is your issue specifically related to Wi-Fi or is it also an issue when you use an ethernet cable?
Could you kindly run an advanced speed check? Please use a laptop or Android phone to run it using https://speedcheck.viasat.com. This will help us get a full reading on the speed situation and more info Wi-Fi.
You can find the instructions on how to run it here: How to run a complete speed diagnosis?
Lastly, I’ve sent you a direct message requesting more information so we can take a look from our side.
Thanks,
Leonardo
Hi Leo,
I will run a speed test but to your question regarding ethernet, my laptop does not have a port for an ethernet cable and I don’t have an adaptor so I can’t say how the cable would change the connectivity.
Also, I am brand new to this forum and I find it very confusing to navigate. I’m not sure where to find the DM you sent.
I will say the connectivity has gotten even worse and I am more often NOT connected than I am connected. For the high monthly rate of Viasat service, I hope we can resolve this quickly. Thank you.
Top right square box, Click that and scroll down till you see the little envelope icon for the DM!
We’ve received your reply with the account information, thank you!
I’m having a look at your account right now, and I’ll let you know as soon as we have more info on these signal drops.
Your account is currently in the middle of a Weather Outage, resulting in bad signal quality. This is most likely the cause of your frequent network drops.
Do you recall when the first offline events happened? I noticed that the errors on your modem began around July 9th.
The outage on your region is resolved, and it seems your signal has improved since!
Are you still experiencing drops? If yes, could you recall the hour at which they occurred?
