I have been paying $200 a month for the 30/300 plan for almost 2 years and I’m so tired of not being able to even use basic functions on my phone…we got the service because we dont have basic service on our phones out here and it takes forever to load anything…we have recently noticed it’s just getting worse and worse and this weekend our download speeds were at most a 2.0…thats insane when we spend so much money every month and have always paid early…I feel like we have been ripped off and im really fed up
I dropped them for similar reasons and got starlink, No issues what so ever, Night and day that is for sure.
I’m sorry about this experience you’re having with Viasat. I just ran a few tests on your modem, and it’s currently receiving very good speeds on your 30Mbps plan, so it’s possible we’re dealing with a Wi-Fi issue.
Some questions to help us start the investigation into your issue:
1- Do you use only the Viasat modem, or an extra Router?
2- Are your devices all connected via Wi-Fi?
3- Are your devices in the same room/floor as the modem/Router, or far away?
Also – When you get a chance, can you please use a laptop or Android phone to run a complete speed diagnosis on https://speedcheck.viasat.com, with the Viasat Browser?
This will help us get a full reading on the speed situation and allow us to identify/rule out Wi-Fi issues. You can follow our guide: How to run a complete speed diagnosis.
Thanks!
Good morning!
Thank you for getting back with me. We only use the modem, we weren’t given a router that I’m aware of…just the black viasat modem. It is in the living room and most of the time we have 2 phones, and our satellite TV connected to it. I have attached some of the pics from this weekend of the tests but I took many more and they must not have registered. I did run some speed tests through the viasat browser so those should be accessible from your side I think. We really don’t use that much but this weekend the speeds were terrible. Even when I unplugged everything except our phones it didn’t do very much. I know we had some weather in our area but it normally doesn’t affect it that much.
It looks like all of your speedchecks were run over a Verizon network.
Could you double-check if you’re currently connected over the Viasat network on your phone?
No, I am not. I’m at work right now. I can send run them this afternoon once I get off at about 5 or so tonight.
