When I do a speed test, it always finds the optimal server in Arkansas and I live in Georgia, is that normal. Wouldn’t be asking if the results weren’t so bad.
SpeedCheck uses Ookla’s speedtest.net service under the hood, according to their documentation they select the best server according to the ping response:
Once you press GO on Speedtest.net, we identify up to five nearby Speedtest® servers based on your location (using spherical geometry). We then ping those nearby servers and choose the server with the lowest response time (meaning, the shortest amount of time between initiating the “Ping” and receiving a response).
