I keep getting an error on the modem speed test, why?
Error description: Request failed with status code 401
No issues w/ device speed test

Could you try running another advanced speedcheck, but this time using an Ethernet cable wired directly to the Modem? We’re still working on the fix, but a cabled test could be a short-term solution (if it works as intended).

Ok, I currently have the ethernet connected from the laptop to the router. Modem speed checks were working in this configuration up until 5 days ago.

Any updates? The error is still occurring. I really don’t want to have to disconnect from my router to perform the task.

Hi @67tango ,

Unfortunately we still haven’t fully implemented the solution, so errors might still occur. What we can recommend is logging out and logging back in when this happens, which might help.

However, I don’t understand what you mean by disconnecting from your router, isn’t your issue only with running speed checks? Could you please further elaborate?

From Nathalia above, I have my ethernet running from my laptop to the router, then to the modem. I may have misunderstood that she was suggesting to connect direct to the modem from my laptop

When using an external router you can connect the cable directly to the router, it should work normally.

It does work normally, the modem speed test does not work. You’re collegue suggested to go directly to the modem. Thx.

Sorry about the confusion. Could you try running the modem test without the Router, using a direct cable between the Modem and the laptop?

I ran the test directly connected between the modem and laptop.

We’ve recently made some changes to Speedcheck in order to fix these issues.

Before performing another speed test, could you please log out and then back into your account on Speedcheck?
