Outdated browser causing ptoblems with banking and trading sites. when will an update be available?

Hi @obrotherick

Thanks for reaching out to the Forum team!

I’ve escalated your issue with the Viasat Browser internally.

In the meantime, please use other browsers to access your banking and trading sites.

the root problem seems to be microsoft"s desire to push there operaing system (windows 10 and newer on everyone. I have tried to download different browsers and found My windows 7 pro system is not supported even though I have a perfectly secure system. I hope Viasat"s updated browser will work with windows 7 as I cannot afford nor do I want to update to the more invasive newer windows versions.

Hi @obrotherick

The current latest version of Viasat Browser is compatible with Windows 7 PCs.
Can you check under “Help” > “About Viasat Browser” if this is your version?

Also – the next time you access the websites that wouldn’t work with the browser, could you please send us a screenshot? This will help our investigation into the issue.

Thanks

PS – Viasat Browser is available for all of these operating systems: https://browser.viasat.com/faq#platform-availability

this is the message from Charles Schwab’s site:

Time to Update Your Browser

Your browser is out of date.

For the best experience, download the latest browser version, or switch to one of our recommended web browsers. Otherwise, some parts of the site will not work for you. More about web browsers

Hi @obrotherick

I checked the link you sent, and it looks like that current website is only supported by these browsers:

Although Viasat Browser is built on top of Chromium, not all websites will work well with it, as the websites themselves would need to add support for the browser.

Were you able to check whether you can access Charles Schwab normally with those other browsers? If the issue persists even with Firefox/Safari/Chrome/Edge etc., then it’s possible that Windows 7 browsers are not supported by that website.

Hi @obrotherick

Regarding the Viasat Browser version –

The browser is out of date and there is no release date for the next update yet. As mentioned previously, we recommend using a different browser for websites that are not working with VB.
