Speed test giving me 10 download, 5 upload. Could not use internet for work. Impossible to upload even small docs. 108 gB left in my $200/month plan. I’ve had to restart modem twice this week to even be able to watch TV. Screen still blurry. Even on cheap non hi def TV I just see the spinning ring. Unacceptable.
Hi @Jillprather
Hi
I see that this is your first time posting on the Forum, thanks for reaching out to us!
I’ve run a quick speed test on your modem, and it seems to be receiving good speeds right now:
However, it looks like your modem had a few drops at the start of this week. Has there been any bad weather in your region?
When you get a chance, can you please use a laptop or Android phone to run a complete speed diagnosis using https://speedcheck.viasat.com, with the Viasat Browser? This will help us get a full reading on the speed situation and allow us to identify/rule out Wi-Fi issues.
You can use our Forum guide: How to run a complete speed diagnosis.
Thank you!
I’m not sure when you ran that test. Maybe middle of night with extremely clear skies? I just ran again and received the results below. 36 download with 3.5 upload. I’m semi-rural no city around me and clear sunny skies. I pay for a plan of 100 mbps but have never come close to that. Is this why you lock people into a 2 year contract? I assumed that paying $199/month would, at very least give me 100 mbps when I have plenty of high speed gigs left.
Hi @Jillprather
That test was done at 2:57 EST, however it was a modem-only test. The test you ran, for example, is a device-only test. The advanced diagnostics runs both tests at the same time (as we don’t have access to your device speeds), and cross-checks for any discrepancy.
Do you have any Android devices or PCs that you could use to run the full speed diagnostics? This test must be run over the Viasat browser with speedcheck.viasat.com, to have access to your modem – however, it does not work with iPhones currently.
