Be fixed ? B

Hi @craigakrep

I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Your network region currently has an unplanned weather outage, in which multiple customers are experiencing degraded signal quality.

Our Engineers are working on this issue, but at the current moment there is no short-term solution that we can offer.

Nathalia,
Thank you for your reply. My neighbor has Viasat internet also and he has had no interruption of service, so I’m not sure you have identified the problem. Please explain why a weather situation can interfere with my service and not my neighbors service.
Thank you,
Craig

Hi @craigakrep

Your network region is not always tied directly to your physical region.

Viasat plans even on the same area can come from different satellites, logical beams etc., so your neighbor may not be tied to the same network region as yours, especially considering your plan is a very old one (“Freedom”).

Often, the outage may not even be happening in your specific physical location, but rather the gateway in which the traffic for your network region comes through.

Good morning Nathalia,
I still have no internet service and it will be one week since it went out last Friday. There must be something that can be done. I live in remote Alaska and a part of our safety and survival out here depends on internet service. I have health issues that require electronic communication with my doctors.
I have been a loyal customer for quite a few years. I do not want to switch services but Starlink is looking better to me all the time. I am not threatening but it is critical that I get internet service right away.
Please help.

Also, you made reference to my freedom plan being very old. Would my service be better if I changed to a newer data plan?
Thanks
Craig

Hi @craigakrep ,

We apologize for the situation. We’re verifying what can be done with some of our internal teams, and we hope to have an answer soon.

Regarding your plan, changing it to a newer one would probably improve your internet speeds, but it shouldn’t have an impact on connectivity.

Thanks,
Leonardo

Hi @craigakrep

I’m sorry about this situation.

We’ve escalated your issue to understand why our system still identifies your region as having an outage after the previous one ended, but due to your modem being down and your situation as a whole, I’m requesting a service call to check your setup ASAP.

The Field Operations team will get in touch as soon as possible using the phone number and/or email associated with your account to schedule this visit.
