Hello, first post here. I’m having trouble peaking my dish after a recent storm. I usually use the MITe app when this happens,
But for some reason this time the MITe app isn’t connecting to the modem, the modem has a white pulsing ring also. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi @C1987,
Are you trying to use the MITe app to check the line of sight (make sure you are pointing the antenna in the right direction)? Or to try to put your antenna/modem in pointing/peaking mode?
If you already have the antenna pointing in the right direction (right line of sight), then you can use these instructions, that don’t require MITe - ViaSat-1/SurfBeam 2 Point and Peak Job Aid » Viasat eGuide - you will only need an install key which I can send via direct message. Please let me know if you need it.
Thanks,
Nacho
@C1987, the MITe app might make the install easier. On which step using the MITe app did you notice that it is not connected to the modem? Is it after entering the install key?
Thanks,
Nacho
Thank you so much! That actually worked, I was able to point and peak through the laptop. Yeah so I’m usually able to do the point and peak myself in stead of Viasat always getting a contractor out, but for some reason MITe would not connect to the modem. It wouldn’t even give me the chance to put the install key in, as it had to be connected to the modem to even get that far. Hopefully I can get the MITe app back up and running but this workaround did the trick.
Thanks for the update. I’m glad we could help. Please feel free to post again in this thread if any questions arise.
