Very poor upload speed after data has been used up for the month which lasts only two weeks. After two weeks our upload speed is virtually dead, and not more than .17. Surely there is a way to improve upload performance, even after data has been used up and hundreds of dollars have been spent and service requests are ignored. Lucky for Viasat it’s the only high speed option other than Star Link. So I guess I’ll go with Star Link if there is no solution for internet for more than only half of each month. Any suggestions?
Hi @dcmuzzy489, sorry about this experience.
I will go ahead and give you some extra data (free of charge) so that we can test if your slow speeds are only caused because you reached your data limit for the month. I will give you an update here once I am done adding the data.
I added 30 GBs of priority data to your account, and still see bad speeds when running a speed test from your modem.
I ran another report and discovered that your antenna is mispointed, I will go ahead and request a technician visit from your field operations team.
Great! Ah yes thank you. I did request a tech before but for whatever reason, didn’t get one. Lots of wind where we are.
You will probably receive a call tomorrow to schedule a time for the technician visit, if you don’t hear from them please let us know, we can follow up. Thanks!
Quick question - is your antenna ground mounted?
I climbed up there and found a very loose screw, and I tightened everything down. Seems to be faster now. Thanks. Dan
Hi @dcmuzzy489 I took a look at our antenna signal quality metrics and couldn’t see a significant improvement yet, so as of now we still recommend the technician visit. I sent you a direct message to confirm your contact info for our field operations team to reach you.
