I am running out of high speed data

Hi @ldeavila,

We can use this new forum topic to keep better track of your issue.

Is it ok if we take a look at your data usage in order to identify any irregular consumption and provide a recommendation?

Actually, @ldeavila I couldn’t find an active Viasat account associated to the email you used to create your forum account. I’ll send you a private message so that you can provide some additional info for us to find your account.

Thanks,

Nacho

Hi @ldeavila,

We can take a look at your data usage in order to see if there is anything abnormal in your usage, but we need your consent to run that report, is that ok with you?

Also, I saw that you are interested in the data saver feature. Please follow these instructions for us to add you - Announcing the Data Saver Feature Experiment!

Thanks,

Nacho

Yes, please take a look at my data usage and let me know where all the high speed data is going. We only watch YouTube and one show a week on paramount.

Hi @ldeavila,

Sorry about the slow reply. I took a look at your usage data and these 9 apps below appear to be the ones that used up most of your data (74%) in the Aug 1 to Aug 23 period.

All the ones labeled as NETWORK STORAGE are backup uploads, you can save data by disabling automatic backups in your accounts/devices. For example, one of these apps could be Google Photos.

You can also see some are labeled as BULK and SOFTWARE UPDATEs, these are updates (that appear to be mostly from Apple Devices). So you could try disabling these automatic updates too in order to save data.

You were already added to the Data Saver Feature experiment, which will help save data when streaming video (should help with YouTube and Paramount).

I’ll send some graphs via DM for you to better understand your usage.

Thanks,

Nacho
