Sometimes accessing the modem interface is very helpful for self-troubleshooting or for providing information to tech support. In this post, I’ll be teaching how to do so.
Before starting, in order to know how to log into your modem, you will need to figure out what Viasat modem you have. If you are not sure, read this article: Which type of Viasat modem do I have?
Logging into a Viasat Wi-Fi Gateway Modem

To access the modem interface
- Type 192.168.100.1 in your browser URL bar.

Enter your modem username and password
- If you have not previously created your own username and password
- The modem credentials are:
* Username: admin
* Password: Use the Admin Password or Key from the sticker on the bottom of the modem

Click the Sign In button
Logging into a Surfbeam 2 or Surfbeam 2+ Modem

To access the modem interface
- Type 192.168.1.1:8080 in your browser URL bar

Enter your modem username and password
- If you have not previously created your own username and password
- The credentials are:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin

Click the Sign In button
