Here we go again...getting ripped off on the very first bill since the upgrade

This is b.s! I am coming the f**k unglued over Viasat’s empty promises. We will start w/ a little history. Last month I had no internet every evening for 3 to 5 hours. It would go out and stay out for this length of time and it happened every single night for a month. After a whole potpourri of reasons from a whole array of individuals they came to the conclusion that they had failed to let me know that I was needing an upgrade. They brought me a new modem and had to realign my dish with a totally different satellite. And on top of that they said that they no longer offered the plan that I had been on for a number of years. The installer came out and did the install and everything has been working ok since. Due to the B.S. I had been going through I received a call from Eric at the corporate office. He said that they were putting me on the Unleashed Plan. And due to the inconvenience I had been put through Eric came up w/ a deal to make up for what I had been through. He said that for the next 12 months he would honor the $30 govt ACP discount (that had been recently discontinued) as a courtesy to me and that I would only be charged $39.99 a month for the plan plus $14.99 for the equipment/lease fee plus $8.99 for the Easy Care plan I signed up for a few years back. He went on to say that my monthly bill would come to approximately 64.00 per month plus tax for the next year…so he said for me to plan on it being around $70 max. He said that after a year my plan would be raised to $99 per month. Also he thanked me for letting them know about the outages
saying that I had helped them identify a problem they were unaware of…It has been 3 weeks since the upgrade…not a mother#$%^king year!!! I just went to the My Viasat page and the bill is $135 f%&#king dollars. It is supposed to be $70. Why can’t you all get your sh$%t together? I am on a fixed income and my bill better be adjusted by the 11th when the bill comes due. I am on autopay. I promise you that if I do not see my bill adjusted within a couple days I m filing a lawsuit against you. This is beyond wrong. Your company doesn’t have it together whatsoever. I have never heard a good word about Viasat from not one of your customers. I have been w/ y’all for like 13 years and I get this kind of treatment. I have never been late on a bill but you all don’t give a f%^^k whatsoever. I have spoken w/ multiple individuals who work for Viasat who say that it is the worst internet provider bar none. Your own employees have nothing good to say about the company. This is the 3rd time I have had an issue of being overcharged over the last 13 years. Your word sucks…you are shady as as f%^K. Jesus H. Christ! Fix my bill this week or I am out of here and will file a lawsuit and you will never get another dime out of me. I do not have time to put up w/ y’alls shady business practices. Being a viasat customer for all these years has been far from pleasant. Have a wonderful day.

Hi @willtommyjones

Do you have your newest invoice available to read?

It’s very likely that the price of this particular invoice is due to the Partial Months being charged, for your previous plan and the newer plan. This is a common practice when switching plans in between billing periods – you’re charged for the equipment lease and the internet service partially, for both plans, for the days in which each service was active.

Here on the Forum we usually only deal with technical issues, and this is most likely an issue of how specific items were charged in your invoice.

I believe the best scenario would be to get in touch with Customer Care and request that they send you a copy of your monthly invoice with all the items – they’ll also be able to explain more about this billing issue.
