Hi @davemaggard1,
I just ran a test from your modem and I’m seeing these speeds:
You are on a plan that offers speeds of up to 25 Mbps, so the results above are considered to be good.
Could you please run a complete speed diagnosis using https://speedcheck.viasat.com/ and share a screenshot of your results wit us? Here are some instructions to run the full diagnosis: How to run a speed test from my modem?
Thank you,
Nacho
This is what im getting
Hi @davemaggard1,
It looks like the test from the modem was still running when you took the screenshot:
Could you please run one more test or check the result of the speeds from the modem on the last one? Comparing the speeds from the device and modem helps us identify Wi-Fi issues.
Thanks,
Nacho
Hi @davemaggard1,
I was able to find your test results in our system, below you can see the last 3 results:
Notice the difference in download speeds (DL) between your device and modem? This indicates that your modem is getting way better speeds than your phone.
How far from your Viasat modem were you when you ran these tests? Are there any walls or barriers in between your phone and modem?
Thanks,
Nacho
Something isn’t right I was right next to my modem when I ran the test if the issue isn’t resolved by the weekend I’ll be looking to find another internet provider
Hi @davemaggard1,
Since this appears to be a Wi-Fi signal issue. An external router such as this one (TP-Link AC1200 Gigabit WiFi Router - Archer A6) could improve the Wi-Fi coverage in your house.
If you get that router or a similar one, the Wi-Fi coverage in your house would improve and the speeds on your devices could be as good as the speeds on your modem.
Thanks,
Nacho
