I’ve been a Viasat customer for over 15 yrs. When they were still Wildblue. I didn’t have problems for years. Now I’m learning how incompetent Viasat is. It all started when I upgraded my plan. They sent me a new modem to self-install. It didn’t work & I made several appts for a technician to come out. Several cancelled, one said I’d have to pay him because viasat refused to. Even though I pay 8.99 a mo. Easy Care. A technician finally came & brought another modem, adjusted my satellite & my upgrade was completed a month after getting the initial modem.
I looked at my bill for May 1st & saw something that didn’t make sense. Viasat Voice was on my bill for a monthly $30 charge. I never signed up for it nor heard of Voice. I called CS & was told I could “cancel the 6 month contract” early & be charged a 50.00 fee. They said Voice is a phone service. So I held on while he checked & confirmed it’s never been used. He couldn’t locate a phone number & didn’t know how I was signed up. But he would cancel it & the 50.00 fee. I asked him to remove the $30.00 charge on my May 1st bill & he said he couldn’t. I didn’t sign or agree to any contract so why should I have to pay when this was done in error by Viasat. Why can’t they answer how this happened?
I want to make sure future payments of Voice are really cancelled & if the $30 fee from May could be taken off my bill or credited for next month.
