I am getting less that 8MB download (my DSL is 8MB) thought this was supposed to be almost high speed internet. These speeds are unacceptable as I work out of the house and need screen shares and the like to do my job. Please fix this like yesterday
Hi @LloydNew,
I’m really sorry to hear about this bad experience.
I’ll be taking a look at your case and we’ll keep you updated
through this post.
Thank you,
Avner
Hi @LloydNew,
I can see on our system that you’ve run a few speed tests on Viasat SpeedCheck. Can you keep running some more tests for us to get a better understanding of your network behavior? Make sure to use the ViasatBrowser and to be logged in on the website.
Also, I have a few questions for you:
1 - When did you first notice bad speeds?
2 - Do you experience bad speeds all day long or at specific moments throughout the day?
Thank you,
Avner
I have run more tests and still have really slow download at the router, it got better for a very short time but now is a half to a quarter of what it should be. This is frustrating and seems to have started when i noticed that speed tests started to use more local sites than the OK and TX ones
Hi @LloydNew,
After looking at your tests and your account I couldn’t find any technical issues.
Unfortunately, your service area appears to be significantly affected by network congestion during the peak busy period (evening hours), which explains the speed fluctuations you have observed. I can see both good and bad speed results in your history, which can be explained by the time of the day you ran them.
While we don’t have an immediate solution, our Viasat Engineers are continuously working to relieve congestion within our network so that you can expect improvements in the long term.
Once again, I’m really sorry for your bad experience and understand how frustrating this can be. Right now we still can’t fix congestion in the short term, but Viasat is working on improving it in the long term.
Thank you,
Avner
