Download speed is 1-5 mps

Download speed is good in the morning but slows to 1 to 5 mps by 7 or 8 o’clock at night. I can’t watch tv due to the constant buffering. I’m paying over $100. a month for a service I cannot use. Please help.
Thank you.

Hi, @Gary5348,

I’m checking that now. As soon as I have some feedback I let you know.

@Gary5348, we’re still investigating the issue.

Probably, by tomorrow we’ll have some updates on that.

Hi, @Gary5348,

Sorry for the delay. We’re still looking into that issue, and we’re going to need another day for checking.

I’ll have more updates by tomorrow, sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi @Gary5348, we are exploring the options to migrate you to a plan with better speed performance. We hope to have an update about this by tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience.

Do you have any updates about the slow speeds I have at night? You said you would let me know by Saturday but I havn’t had a reply E-Mail.
Please let me know what you plan on doing. Thank you.

Hi, @Gary5348,

Sorry, we ended up having some delays and we are still evaluating that issue.

Tomorrow we will probably have some feedback.

Again, sorry for that, and thanks for your cooperation and patience!

Hi, @Gary5348,

I saw you accepted the transition to another plan.

Please let us know if you find any issues.

Thanks!

Hi @Gary5348,

We were wondering if you perceived an improvement in the experience so far with your new plan?

Thank you,

Nacho

For the last two nights my speeds are higher but not close to new plan of 75mbs. Wednesday night speeds were in the twenty range. Thursday was 14.8 to 22.4 range. I seem to be able to watch TV without to much buffering. Let’s see how it goes in the next week.
Thank you for your attention to this problem.

Hi, @Gary5348,

Thanks for the feedback.

If you always watch videos, I believe you can benefit a lot from the data saver feature.

The data saver automatically reduces the bandwidth for video downloads, thus considerably decreasing the data usage for streaming apps.

That feature is still experimental but has helped a lot of customers save data.

You can check more details here: Announcing the Data Saver Feature Experiment!

To have access to that feature you just need to fill up this form and let us know. Then, I’ll activate it on your account and add you to a private group here in the forum, where you can post any feedback or issues related to the experiment.

Anderson,
Wanted to let you know that my average speeds are 50-60mbs daytime and in the 20’s range at night. You increased my plan speed to 75 mbs. It has helped a lot but still not close to 75. Let me know if you think the data saver will help with the speed or does that just save data when streaming?
Thanks,

Hi, @Gary5348,

The data saver will not increase the speeds; however, it can improve the performance because it decreases the bandwidth for video downloads, thus leaving more internet available for other usages.

It will also help you maintain the priority data for longer, therefore helping you to get the best possible speeds.

When you have a chance, please send us a speed test from your modem, as follows:

1 - Open the Viasat browserthis test won’t work on other browsers;
2 - Go to this website: Viasat Speed Check | Home
3 - Log in using your My Viasat account
4 - Run the test
5 - Download the results (or take a screenshot)
6 - Send me the results in a direct message

Are you using Wi-Fi, right? We want to check if there is anything wrong with your Wi-Fi.

If you have another device, it would be better if you could run that same test from both.

Hi, @Gary5348,

We need to check the difference between modem and device speeds, and for that we need you to do a speed test from your modem, as I mentioned above:

1 - Open the Viasat browserthis test won’t work on other browsers ;
2 - Go to this website: Viasat Speed Check | Home
3 - Log in using your My Viasat account
4 - Run the test
5 - Download the results (or take a screenshot)
6 - Send me the results in a direct message

The screenshot you sent is from another browser, not the Viasat’s one

Hi Anderson
Enclosed are three speed tests taken in the am(high numbers) and pm(low numbers). Please sign my up for the test your running on narrow bandwidth.
Thank you, and let me know when it’s installed and what feedback you want.

Anderson,
My bill is showing $185.94 with no credit per our discussion. Please make sure that the credit is issued

Thanks,

Hi, @Gary5348,

I’m checking that now. When I have more information I let you know.

@Gary5348,

I’ll send a DM to provide more details.

Any updates on my credits?
