Download speed below 2Mbps for most of the day

I first noticed the slow speeds a few weeks ago when I wasn’t able to stream video during peak use hours, but I’d gone well over the 850 GB “not a limit” of my unlimited plan and I assumed that I was being throttled.

Since then, then problem has gotten worse. I rarely show above 2 Mbps whenever I run a test. I will sometimes leave some media or game downloads (appletv+ or Steam) going when I go to bed, and Steam will sometimes show that the download speed peaked at around 50 Mbps, but this is happening between midnight and 6 AM.

At present, I’ve only used 200gb of the 850gb (not a) limit. I shouldn’t have such poor speeds during waking hours.

Hi @simowilkins

I’m sorry about this experience you’re currently having with Viasat.

Your data usage is consistently more than a typical residential user on our network (currently usage trending to exceed 850 GB in any 30-day period).

To avoid being deprioritized in the next billing cycle, please try to reduce your data usage.

On my current billing cycle, I’m averageing 12 GB per day. That’s on pace to use well less than half of the 850 non-limit. This month, I’ve used 206 GB and the month is almost halfway over.

Are you telling me that if I go over in the month of March, I remain deprioritized for the ENTIRE month of April?

On my previous plan, deprirotization ended at the end of each billing cycle. Is it different now? I notice the “any 30 day period” language in your reply (and the terms of service). Will I, then, be reprioritized once those several unusually high usage days (March 15 - 20) are no longer in that 30 day period?
