Directtv was here this afternoon

I believe Directv is subcontracted by Viasat to handle some of their load.

Anyway tech was here today to check my system out… He had trouble initially realigning the dish. Then decided to try replacing modem. Still having trouble after modem replacement. His tech support walked him through dish realignment. Seemed to work ok the first test on my laptop but has gotten progressively worse the more times I run speed test.

Will not run the modem part of the test now. Error 400 showing now. Rebooted modem twice now and reboot failed one time.

I keep an eye on modem status and SNR dropped from approx 7 db to <5.5 db after new modem was installed. Is 7 db SNR a stronger signal from the dish?

The tech was fairly new to Viasat systems.

Is a real dish alignment part of my internet service problem?

Also speeds are much much worse now.

Not that it matters much now, I believe DSE was disabled with the new modem

For public knowledge, issue is being worked on: Almost no speed tonight - #16 by geo
