Difference in modem speed and device speed

Hi I ran a speed test on the viasat browser. It says my device speed is 25 and my modem speed is 38.51. Is there a way to bring these numbers closer together?

I was able to fix my speeds by getting my own router to attach to the modem viasat gave me, I use the 5ghz band and now on average my speeds stay around 60-80 and on really good days it is over 100

Are you using the TP-Router that you mentioned on Added new tp router?

I see that your network name on the tests is no longer vsat, so I assume you are. :slight_smile:

Do you know the approximate distance between your device used in the test and the Router?

Hello. Yes I am using the tp router. The test was on my desktop computer about 10-15 ft away.thanks!

Hi @kathy61344 ,

Considering the short distance, your speeds should be better than what you’re experiencing.

Would you be able to run another complete Speed Check test on a different device to see if there is any variation in the results?
