This is ridiculous. Since upgrading my speeds are incredibly slow and yet I’m using data at twice the rate. I pay way too much for this but I’m obviously not the only one having issues. emphasized text
Hi @Therascalfive,
I’m sorry to hear about your bad experience with the Viasat service.
From what I understand I see that you mention two different issues: slow speeds and data usage. I’ll divide this post to discuss them separately.
Slow speeds:
Upon running a speed test from your modem I see good results:
I know this doesn’t represent the experience you mentioned therefore I’d like to ask to run a few speed tests on your end so I can get a better understanding of your experience.
To run those tests you can follow this tutorial: How to run a speed test from my modem?.
Please make sure to:
1 - Use the Viasat Browser
2 - Be logged in to your MyViasat account.
Also, do you experience bad speeds all day long or in specific moments of the day?
Data Usage
Regarding data usage, if you give me consent I can take a look at the detailed information of your usage so you can have a better view of what’s consuming your data.
Also, we have an experiment that could help you save data. You can see all the details here: Announcing the Data Saver Feature Experiment!. If you’re interested in being part of the experiment you can fill out the form listed there.
I’ll be waiting for your feedback.
Thank you,
Avner
Thanks for reaching out. Those speeds would be awesome if I could get them.
I was getting 9 down and 6 up when I sent mine. Meanwhile, I’ve someone used 67 of my 100 gig for this month. At this rate I’ll be out by Friday with 17 days left in the month. And we know that there is no service after this happens. The standard service is nonexistent
I’m totally unhappy with my service and will be checking out what Hughes has to offer.
Hi @Therascalfive,
I completely understand your frustration and the idea of looking for a new internet provider.
However, we are happy to help you find the issues that are causing your bad experience.
You mentioned you are not getting those speeds on your end, that could be caused by several reasons. If you run a few tests on your side following the tutorial I sent you it would help us find out the cause.
And regarding the data usage if you give me consent I can share with you a detailed analysis of how your data is being used.
You can let me know if you want to proceed with the troubleshooting.
Thank you,
Avner
