I hate this internet company its as bad if not worse than hughesnet the data usage is stupid we have nothing on or down loading and all if the sudden we have used all our data when I called the company basically they said we need to turn off or un plug everything that uses our Internet when we are not home we have only had the service 2 weeks and day one we have been on constant buffering and it eats up the data I could go on for days about this service and was told we are stuck with it for two years no way out of it dont fall for their lies they tell you its unlimited until you sigh on the dotted line then they hit you with the high cost of their service!!!
That sounds really bad. Can we have your consent to take a look at your usage to try to figure out what’s using all that data?
Also, while we dig into your usage in the hopes of finding something that will help manage it better, we will credit your account with 30 GB of priority data. If you are good with this, it will show up on your account as a charge and then a credit but you will definitely not be charged for it.
Thanks,
Peter
Go ahead and look at it
By far your data consumption is from a Roku device streaming video and we show steady use of it every day of the month of May so far – in the 10 GB range per day. Is that surprising to you?
Also, we are in the process of adding 30 GB to your account now.
Yes because we have had the same tv and never had a problem anywhere but here we have paid highest with your company and we have lived in rural areas our whole lives you all know that you are charging people for wgere they live and don’t have a choice for any other internet company so you choose to over charge know wonder you get horrible reviews
Hi @gardnertrenna,
We have reached out to our accounts and billing team to see what we can do for you, and will send you an update once we have one.
In the meantime, we added 60 GB free to your account - you will initially see a charge for this, but your account will be credited that same amount so it will end up being free for you.
Best,
Cat
Hi @gardnertrenna,
When you use Roku for streaming, is it a Roku stick or TV? If it is a stick, you may be able to lower your resolution settings in order to decrease the amount of data being used up during streaming.
Thank you,
Cat
It sure is surprising as I don’t have a Roku device and rarely stream anything because of data limits. I do watch short videos on Facebook, rarely look at Reels and Short Videos. If I do stream anything, I keep a record of how long it was and how many GB’s were used.
Hi @ridgetop1005,
I think Peter’s comment about the Roku usage was in response to @gardnertrenna. My reply on your topic can be found here: Unusually high daily data usage - #6 by Nacho
