Hi @vsense, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I’m unsure as to why your SSID would have changed, i’ll check here internally if it was a firmware update that may have triggered this?
Regardless, we do have a handy guide on how to change your wi-fi settings (How to change your Wi-Fi name and/or password) that should let you reset your wi-fi to your preference and connect your devices to it.
Hope this helps!
I don’t have a working password, how do I log in?
Thanks,
Wayne Ransier
Hi @vsense,
I see in the system you have an SB2+ Modem. Here’s an article that shows how you can reset your Wi-Fi credentials: How do I change Wi-Fi settings on Surfbeam 2+ modem?. This link is a detailed step-by-step on how you can access your modem’s page and reset the credentials. Since you cannot connect to your Wi-Fi at this time, you will need to use an ethernet cable and a computer.
Thanks,
Leonardo
The instructions say to login with admin and admin, doesn’t work. I’ve used the reset button on the modem and still can’t login.
Please tell me what username and password I should use?
Are you saying with an Ethernet connection I won’t need a username and password?
Hi @vsense,
the admin and admin credentials are for accessing the modem configuration page by getting to the 192.168.1.1:8080 IP address. Once you get to the modem configuration page you can then change your Wi-Fi credentials to the ones you want. Do you have any devices that you can connect to the modem via ethernet cable?
Thanks,
Leonardo
The ethernet connection is necessary in order to access the 192.168.1.1:8080 IP address page and get to the modem configuration page in cases where you cannot connect to it via Wi-Fi. If you have the ethernet cable connection, you can go to the configurations page and then you can configure the credentials you want for the Wi-Fi.
Thanks,
Leonardo
I still need a username and password, I have tried admin admin.
Please tell me what login credentials I need, don’t you know the password?
Hi @vsense,
We don’t have access to the Wi-Fi credentials of our customers, so I cannot inform you of your Wi-Fi password.
The process I sent you the instructions for is a process that lets you define your Wi-Fi name and password for yourself. For that, you will need to have an ethernet cable and follow the instructions.
The first step is going to your internet browser and typing the IP address “192.168.1.1:8080”, which will prompt you for a username and password. This is when the admin and admin credentials are used. They are not your Wi-Fi credentials.
Since you have reset your modem, you can try the credentials that are written on the label at the back of your modem. Please let me know if those work for you.
Thanks,
Leonardo
I will give it a try.
Thanks,
Wayne
